TEN EXAMPLES THAT ARE CULTURALLY DIFFERENT (Japan)
1) Hand behind the head: Sign of awkwardness or embarrassment. (Goku
does this quite a bit. :)
2) Pointing to one's own nose: Referring to the self.
3) Waving towards someone, palm down: 'Come here'.
4) Clapping the hands in front of the face (bowing optional): pleading for a favor, asking for forgivness, or thanking for a meal. Sometimes only one hand (the right, I think) is held up instead.
5) Pounding the chest--"Leave it to me."
6) Hand waving back and forth in front of the face: "No, thanks." If you are a tourist in Japan and try to ask for directions from someone, that gesture means that the person you're talking to doesn't speak English.
7) Bending the index finger in a hooking motion: Implies that some sort of underhanded dealing has happened.
8) Raising the pinky: Used to refer to someone's wife/girlfriend/lover.
9) Licking the finger and touching something/someone: Laying claim to someone/something.
10) The Face Fault: The eyes pop, the jaw drops, and the person may also go Super Deformed. (An exaggerated shock/pain reaction.)

TEN EXAMPLES OF BODY LANGUAGE BETWEEN GENDERS
MEN:
1) Watch His Adam's Apple - When you talk to a guy, who is normally confident, and if you see him a little "flustered" in your company, or blushing, with a bobbing adam's apple, it can be a quick give away of his feelings for you. He feels nervous because he's worried about the impression he's making on you, and when a person is nervous his "adam's apple" starts going up and down because of the strain of nervousness. When a guy is not interested in a girl, however beautiful she is, he will not be nervous in her company - he will be at ease with her.
2) The Helpful Attitude - If you find a man trying to be helpful of you, assisting you or giving you more importance, at the office, it's indicative of his interest in you. Men are usually very conservative about offering help, especially in office, and they would do so only if they have an interest in being close to you. He may offer to assist you with your office work, try to help you repair or sort out stuff, get you coffee or water, offer you a ride home or just look out for you at the meetings.
3) Grooming - When men are in love they try to take better care of their looks. If you see an evident change in the dressing style, or hair style, of a man, after he gets to know you a bit, it could indicate that you are having an impact on him. Most men are not naturally good at dressing up, so if you see a man making a conscious effort to look good, it would directly mean that he's trying to impress a girl - and it could be you.
4) Standing Tall - Guys have an unconscious way of displaying their masculinity by standing tall, with their stomach tucked in, when they are in the company of a woman they are attracted to. It's a man's way of trying to impress a woman with his body, however miserable the attempt might come off. Most guys tend to slouch a lot, so it becomes evident when they suddenly stand erect.
5) Exaggerated Behavior To Catch Your Attention - Some guys tend to behave in a very exaggerated manner around their friends and colleagues when their "love interest" is in the vicinity. Just notice his behavior with other men, when you are around. Does he suddenly start cracking jokes, talking loud or making strong opinions? This is again an unconscious behavior on a man's part and is aimed at impressing the fact that he is the leader of the pack.

WOMEN:
6) The Lip Nibble: Oh my God! Men love this body language signal. It's origins and the reasons why it works are still a mystery. There is nothing like the Lower Lip Nibble to subconsciously give a man an injection of pure of testosterone. The lower lip is gently gripped by the teeth and with sensual slowness allowed to slip away. Done well and without awareness this can drive a man to his knees - done badly it becomes a parody. Strangely, this is a powerful sex signal between women (lesbians) and is used by the submissive female to indicate interest in the dominant potential partner.
7) The Vagina / Womb Gesture: To the right is a picture of a woman wearing an average pair of jeans and yet the way she has placed her hands is a powerful “turn-on” for some men. The reason is that her hands are creating a frame for her Vagina. Although sometimes mistaken for "male" gesture, her hands are actually "spelling-out" what's on her mind. Her female body language is actually saying: "This is the part of me that I want you to notice. I'm telling you that this area of my body is available for the right man!" It is a confident signal indicating aggressive sexual availability.
8) Self Stroking / Touching: "I'm stroking and touching myself because I'd really like to be stroked and touched by you". Also, by touching herself in this way a woman draws a man's attention to those erogenous zones that she thinks are her best assets and will appeal to him. Thighs, neck and ankles are all favourites. It is fair to say that women are very aware of the way that this subconsciously affects men and will do it deliberately. Where it is subconscious it is a truly reliable indicator of a woman's feelings.
9)Toying or Object Stroking: Psychologists believe that people often transfer inner feelings to external objects. So by stroking the stem of a wine glass (for example) a woman is using female body language to say "stroke me". By running her a pen across her lips she is saying "kiss me". These female body language signals should not be confused with "agitation" gestures that indicate that the woman would rather be somewhere else. The difference is in the speed with which they are performed. Slow and sensual is good - fast and "jerky" is bad. Wine glasses, table ornaments, sun glasses and pens are common objects used for "toying".
10) Knee Pointing: This signal is about interest and focus. By turning the knees and legs towards a man, a woman is using female body language to indicate the person in which she is currently interested - thus creating a personal space triangle. The outer legs also present a barrier to others who may intrude. Translated, this signal means: "You are the person I am focusing on." Legs and knees that point away are a bad sign - particularly if the knees are aiming at a door. In a sense they become a barrier to the nearby person and an invitation to others. The more leg exposed the more sexual the signal.
